________________________________________ There is but one way to heaven and that is by God's grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. There are many places in the Bible where one can be shown how to be saved. We have chosen to use what is commonly called the "Romans Road." The Romans Road is an explanation of the plan of salvation taken from throughout the book of Romans. We ask that you please read and consider these things as they apply to your life. As you read, ask yourself the question, "If I died right now, would I go to Heaven?" The answer to this question carries an eternal impact. ________________________________________ The First Stop Your first move toward a saving knowledge of Christ is to realize that you have sinned. "As it is written, there is none righteous, no not one." Romans 3:10 "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23 ________________________________________ The Second Stop All sin has a penalty. The penalty for your sin is the same as the penalty for any sin. This penalty for sin (or price that must be paid), is clearly given in the Scripture. Pay particular attention to the first part of this verse. "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23 ________________________________________ The Third Stop The penalty for sin must be paid. Did you know that the penalty has already been paid? That is good news for us! Jesus Christ paid the penalty for our sin when He bled and died on the Cross of Calvary. "But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8 ________________________________________ The Fourth Stop The payment Jesus Christ made on the Cross is worthless to you unless you turn from your sin and trust Him. This payment is a gift offered freely to all who would receive it, but like any gift, it must be received. Now pay particular attention to the second part of the verse from our second stop. "... but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ or Lord." Romans 6:23b _____________________________________ The Fifth Stop You must receive the free gift of salvation. Just knowing that it exists does not save you from having to pay the penalty for your sin. How can you receive this gift? "That if thou confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." Romans10:9 "For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Romans 10:10 "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:13 ________________________________________ The Next Stop on the Road This
is where you take over. What will you do with Jesus Christ? Would you
stop right now, be willing to give up your sin, and trust Jesus Christ
as your Lord and Savior? It should be clear to you what your standing
with Jesus is, and it should be clear what you can do about it. Please
take this opportunity to trust Christ. If you would like to talk to someone about God's gift for you, please give us a call at (303) 238-7711 or drop us a note by CLICKING HERE |
